FAQs

  • How long does it take for carpet to dry after a cleaning?

It can take anywhere between 8 and 48 hours before a carpet is fully dry.  There are multiple variables, such as the humidity, temperature, and amount of air flow in the room, that dictate how long it will take for your carpet to dry.  Using fans, opening windows, and turning up heating can help dry the carpet faster.

  • How often do I need to clean my carpets?

Most carpets should be cleaned 1-2 times per year.  Your carpet manufacturer or carpet cleaning technician can recommend the best professional carpet cleaning schedule for your carpets.

  • What equipment do you use?

We use the Rotovac DHX which uses power extraction cleaning.  The Rotovac DHX leaves carpets drier and cleaner than a traditional wand carpet cleaner.

  • Do I need to move my furniture?

You do not need to move your furniture, but you can if you would like.  It is the customer’s responsibility to move any furniture before their appointment.  We can clean right up to and around furniture that is in the room or you can move your furniture so that we can access the entire carpeted area in the room.  Carpeted areas that are under large furniture that stays in the same place may stay cleaner underneath and may not need to be cleaned as frequently.

  • Do you offer “green” or eco-friendly cleaners?

Yes, we offer a Green Seal certified cleaner that is safe for your family and pets.  We offer a traditional cleaner as well.

  • Do I need to do anything to prepare for my appointment?

We ask all of our customers to vacuum before their cleaning appointment.  If our customers would like, they can also move their furniture or items in the room to allow access to the entire carpeted area.

  • How can I take care of spots in between cleanings?

Removing any spots or stains immediately is the best way to keep your carpet free from spots and stains.  Blotting the stain with plain, cold water is the best way to remove most stains.  Your carpet manufacturer or cleaning technician can recommend products to help deal with spots and stains in between professional cleanings.

  • How should I maintain my carpet?

Carpet maintenance is an important part in keeping your carpet looking it’s best.  It is ideal to vacuum at least 1-2 times per week.  A protective coating, such as teflon or Scotchguard, can help repel stains.  You should also have your carpet professionally cleaned 1-2 times per year.  High traffic areas may need to be professionally cleaned more often and may benefit from a protective coating after cleaning.
